Where do I get business ideas?

You can find a list of 200+ business ideas on the Business Know-How web site at http://www.businessknowhow.com/Startup/200ideas.htm .Other good sources of ideas include, the Yellow Pages of your phone book, and the articles and ads in popular magazines and trade publications. However, don't get taken in by the get-rich-quick or "Make thousands of dollars in your own business" ads. Make a list of the types of businesses that pique your interest, then investigate the most promising ones to see if any would make a suitable business for you.

Table 2.1: Business Selection Worksheet

Instructions: Fill in appropriate information under the headings "Like to Do" and "Do Well" Then, under "Business Possibilities," list, in the order they occur to you, any ideas for possible businesses based on your skills and interests. Finally, next to each business idea, put some rough "guestimate" of how many people would buy from the business and who those people might be. Your notations should help you spot potentially good businesses for you to consider.
